At the The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College,
students nearing the end of the baccalaureate programs embark
upon an eight-day exploration of some of the best of England.
Combining history, art and culture with hospitality and fine cuisine,
this capstone course serves as the ideal culmination of the student's
overall college experience. Students will encounter both the majesty
and charm of old England, and the diversity and vitality of today's
England in this rewarding three-credit course.
Their instructors will be Oxford dons, castle tour guides, chefs,
and professional hotel and inn managers. The Restaurant School
at Walnut Hill College faculty members accompanying them on their
journey will walk students through England's history and highlight
how the country has evolved into a major destination for foodies
and history buffs alike.
Appropriately enough, the tour begins in Oxford, renowned the
world over as home of one of the oldest and most highly revered
universities in Europe. Here, students will stay in historic Trinity
College while making short day-trips to the towns of Windsor and
Bath, and dining at some of the finest restaurants in England
in the evening. At these restaurants, students will be personally
addressed by the chefs and will receive special behind-the-scenes
tours. The last portion of the trip will be spent taking in London
and all that this exciting city has to offer. Here, students will
encounter pomp and circumstance and a cosmopolitan vitality, and
will sample the best of modern British fare as well as traditional
high tea. What more fitting way to end a journey to Britain?
There is always something exciting happening at The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College.
