At The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College, we believe students should learn the art of true hospitality by experiencing the finest aspects of hospitality. As a Restaurant Management or Hotel Management major, students experience an eight-day behind-the-scenes tour of Walt Disney World®, central Florida resorts, and a Bahamas cruise. The beauty of this adventure is that nearly all of the expenses are covered by the tuition.
This invaluable three-credit course allows our management students to gain insight into the cruise industry, the Disney philosophy, and the luxury of the islands. Their faculty are professional hotel managers, convention coordinators, cruise ship directors, chefs, and hotel marketers.
The tour begins at Walt Disney World's beautiful Key West Resort where students tour many of Disney's hotels, resorts, and restaurants, while being briefed by Disney staff on topics such as customer service, sales, marketing, and hotel and restaurant management. Students continue to travel through central Florida and discover its famous resort hotels and restaurant complexes. At Port Canaveral, they board a luxury cruise ship that becomes a floating classroom for three days. Finally, this memorable experience concludes with a session at a resort/casino on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
